Position Purpose

A Research Specialist role at Info-Tech means flexibility, inclusiveness, learning & development, internal career mobility, and strong relationships. In this role, new graduates, and those in the early stages of their career, will build on the knowledge and experience they\xe2\x80\x99ve acquired through post-secondary education and early work experiences. The work carried out will advance critical skills they will carry through their careers. Some of which include, business acumen, research, project management, written and verbal business communications, global client-facing experience, meeting and session facilitation, insight analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

In this role you\xe2\x80\x99ll create and deliver client-driven, project-based, practical research that helps Info-Tech clients drive measurable results in their organizations. To start you\xe2\x80\x99ll likely be assigned into our Research Development area under our Special Projects team to support your onboarding & development and start with learning our Research processes. Further development into calls and workshops will happen as your progress. Depending on business needs at the time you start, this is subject to change.

The Core Job Activities

Research

  • Developing surveys & interview questions and coordinating primary research interviews with subject matter experts.
  • Conducting interviews, finding, and reading relevant literature related to your assigned topic, and using the information gathered to come up with your insights.
  • Collaborate with more senior analysts, Leads, and other teams to develop frameworks or methodologies, and build supporting tools and resources to publish on our website.
Support Client Calls
  • Develop call taking capabilities by participating in calls with senior analysts and clients and actively learning Info-Tech\xe2\x80\x99s published research, and call processes, with a view to eventually leading your own calls.
  • Listening to the information provided by clients and taking notes on recommendations given by analysts on the ways they can use our research.
Support Workshop Delivery
  • Support Workshop Leads to deliver both high-quality virtual and in-person workshops to Members.
  • Throughout the workshop, helping the Lead to collect and analyze activity outputs from participants and compiling them into a polished final deliverable for the Member at the end of the engagement.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
  • Develop and provide written collateral to other departments like Sales, Workshop Delivery, Consulting, Public Relations & Marketing teams, as needed.
  • Work with senior analysts to help design and build of high-quality keynote/other presentations.
  • Work on special projects as business needs and resourcing arise, which may require you to work closely with senior leaders and Executive Leaders across the Division.
Job Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Computer Science/IT, Data & Analytics/Data Science, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, & Compliance, Accounting/Finance, Public Policy/Administration, or other related.
  • Dean\xe2\x80\x99s list in final two years of study will be advantageous. May be asked to provide unofficial post-secondary transcripts in your application along with resume.
  • Academic scholarships/awards are an asset
  • Beneficial, but not required - some practical experience in one or more of the following domains: presentations/facilitation, project management, research, data analysis, teaching, software, market research/intelligence experience, and/or related IT work experience, etc.

Additional Job Details

Work Hours: Core business hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am \xe2\x80\x93 5 pm, with 1-hour lunch break (40-hour work week). Flexibility to adjust hours, upon discussion with Practice/Research Lead. Must be available adjust work hours periodically to service Asia-Pacific (APAC) and European clients.

Location: At first this role will be in-office (London or Toronto TBD) while the New Hire Cohort are onboarding & developing in their role. When fully proficient, the option to request a Hybrid (Toronto, ON or London, ON, combined with work from home) work arrangement will be available.

Travel: The ability and flexibility to travel occasionally for business purposes may be necessary.

Travel Visas: May be required to obtain appropriate work Visa(s) for the country to which would be travelling. Most of our clients are in the US, so eligibility to obtain / visa is required.
