The successful applicant will be based on site at IWK Health and will work with the Dalhousie Department of Critical Care research program. The primary responsibilities for this position will be research coordination and activities with the Pediatric Outcomes imProvement through COordination of Research Networks (POPCORN) project. This project, conducted at the 16 Child Health Research Organizations and their affiliated teaching hospitals, is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). The aim of the project is to enhance responsiveness to emerging COVID-19-related issues, including long-term outcomes and unintended consequences, and improve research for other emerging global phenomena.
We are seeking an individual to provide local research coordination support to follow children who present to the pediatric emergency department or are admitted to the hospital for severe acute COVID-19 infections or complications across their healthcare journey. The successful candidate will participate and assist in document management, participant recruitment, data collection, chart reviews, laboratory testing, and follow up visits. They will also support Dalhousie departmental research projects at the discretion of department research leadership.This position reports to Kristen Griffiths in the Dalhousie Department of Critical Care; the immediate supervisor for POPCORN work will be Dr. Jennifer Foster in the IWK Department of Pediatric Critical Care.SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
