Position Description

The SickKids Lupus Research Program in the Division of Rheumatology is seeking a Clinical and Research Psychologist to join our team. The SickKids Lupus Research Program strives to improve outcomes for children and adolescents with systemic lupus erythematosus through multidisciplinary research. Working closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), the psychologist will assist with projects related to childhood-onset lupus. The psychologist will participate in clinical research projects assisting with data analysis and interpretation, and assist in the preparation, presentation and publication of study results. The psychologist may also perform neuropsychological assessments, interpret and communicate results, and assist with data entry and management. The psychologist will work collaboratively with a team of physicians, nurses, researchers, and other project staff.

Here's What You Get to Do:



Contribute to clinical research that contributes to and extends scientific knowledge of psychological health outcomes in a pediatric chronic illness population Perform neuropsychological assessments of current cognitive, academic, and social-emotional functioning in the context of the child's neurodevelopmental and medical history Interpret and communicate assessment results, and assist with data entry and management Work collaboratively as a member of the Lupus team Create, utilize and/or disseminate new knowledge to develop treatment/educational programs to respond to child and family needs

Here's What You'll Need:



Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with declared competencies in neuropsychology and clinical psychology Training in the scientist/clinician model of care Excellent problem-solving, time management, written and oral communication skills Ability to conduct clinical research and work as part of a multidisciplinary team Proficiency in assessment and psychotherapy with children/adolescents and interviewing and educating families Demonstrated commitment to advancing and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives

Employment Type:

Temporary 6 month contract, 0.20 FTE
