Investment Executive, Canada's leading news source for financial advisors since 1989, is looking to hire
a team of entry-level research journalists
to conduct a series of investigative surveys with key members of the financial services sector. The research will appear on investmentexecutive.com as the Report Card series, which has run annually since 1993. Several top Canadian journalists started in the industry by working on this project with Investment Executive, plus the large-scale project offers experience in conducting and analyzing market research interviews.
Candidates should be self-starters, confident, inquisitive, hard-working and very comfortable conducting thorough telephone interviews in a survey format -- as their workdays will be spent conducting interviews for the length of the contract. Candidates should be able to work efficiently under tight time constraints as well as demonstrate strong analysis skills; data comprehension is integral to the role.?
Fluency in French is a significant asset

The contract positions will begin on
Jan. 5, 2026
and end no earlier than May 30, 2026, with the potential for extended work into July with Canadian Underwriter, also a Newcom Media business brand which provides news, insights and analyses for Canada's P&C insurance industry. The rate is
$20/hour, typically with 35 hours per week
for the duration of the contract.
Investment Executive?is owned by Newcom Media Inc. Its audience is financial advisors and planners who work with investors.
Our offices are within walking distance of Kipling Station in Toronto. Hybrid work arrangements may be available following the training period.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate:
is motivated, inquisitive, efficient, deadline-oriented and hard-working.
has experience working on a team and on large, multi-stage projects.
has experience with market research and is comfortable with in-depth phone interviews (workdays are spent conducting calls with advisors).
has strong communication skills.
has experience with assessing data, information and general themes, collected from interviews.
is familiar with the Microsoft Office suite (particularly Word, Excel and Sharepoint).
is familiar with survey software, such as Survey Monkey.
We're looking for recent journalism graduates as well as those interested in the market research field.
You must be available and committed to fulfilling a full-time contract for a minimum of five months
