Crisis Centre North Bay is seeking motivated qualified individuals to join the management team overseeing the shelter services offered in our Housing and Homelessness Programs on a full-time contract basis. This contract is a 12 month contract with the possibility of extension. These programs consist of all shelter services of Crisis Centre North Bay which includes the Four Elms Residence, the Northern Pines Low Barrier Shelter and the Northern Pines Transitional Housing Units.
The Shift Manger will report directly to the Supervisor. You will have primary responsibility for the daily management of programs and services while on shift and as part of the on-call rotation. As part of the management team, the Shift Manager will contribute to the development of Agency plans, policies and procedures, represent the agency professionally in the community, monitor and promote conditions and practices that ensure the health, safety and well-being of staff and persons using the services.
The current openings are at Northern Pines, however dependent on the skills, abilities and attributes of who is hired, the positions may or may not start at the other programs noted above. When applying, be clear you are being hired to work as a full time Shift Manager for all of the programs listed above, you may only ever work at one, but the position is transferable with appropriate notice to the employee.
Hours of Operation:
The Housing and Homelessness Programs operate 24 hours per day 7 days a week. As a Shift Manager, you will be required to work 35 hours per week on a rotational shift schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends and may include some overnight shifts.
Qualifications:
College Diploma or University Degree in a relevant social service field
A minimum of 1 year management experience in a residential/comparable setting
Experience in staff supervision within a unionized environment is considered an asset
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence individuals and teams in the context of change, towards a vision/mission while maintaining group cohesiveness, motivation, commitment and effectiveness: strong leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive and welcoming employment environment that values each individual; respects their values, preferences and unique abilities
Advanced verbal and written communication skills; excellent consultation, change management, conflict resolution, negotiation and mediation skills
Exemplary emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated professional behavior and respect for boundaries in a diverse work environment
Excellent judgement, problem solving skills and strong decision-making ability
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Knowledge of community resources related to housing, mental health and addictions and financial resources and supports
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset
Rate of Pay:
$34.34-$38.15
