Job Description

The Nicotine Dependence Service (NDS) at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a full-time, contract (12 Month) Research Coordinator to support a range of research, evaluation and project planning/implementation activities.

Reporting to the Project Manager, and working closely with Scientists and Directors, the candidate will support a broad range of initiatives across the NDS in a research-based and coordination capacity. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: coordinating, implementing, and tracking project work plans; literature reviews; and quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for reviewing and critically appraising published literature such as meta-analyses, primary research studies, program evaluations, surveillance data and reports, environmental scan reports, and methodological papers. The successful candidate will be expected to synthesize findings into various communication formats, including scientific papers, reports, briefs, proposals and presentations. Familiarity with building and administering surveys in the application REDCap is an asset. Experience with data collection/assessments with study participants, completing project progress reports, coordinating team meetings, and facilitating engagement sessions with a range of stakeholders will be part of this role. Experience preparing proposals and submissions to the Research Ethics Board at CAMH and familiarity with research-related processes and procedures is required.

Other administrative and non-administrative duties may be involved, as required. This position is located at 1025 Queen St. W. with the option to work in a hybrid manner at the discretion of the manager.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must possess a Masters level degree in a health-related field, with at least two (2) years of relevant qualitative research experience. Familiarity with project and work plan coordination while working with multiple stakeholders is required. The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, will be proficient in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, literature searches, knowledge synthesis. Experience in preparing funding proposals, submitting research ethics applications, writing and preparing manuscripts for publication is an asset; the candidate must possess superior attention to detail.

Strong analytical and conceptual abilities are required, as well as the ability to respond to deadlines in a fast-paced environment and possessing excellent consultation and problem solving skills. The incumbent will have knowledge of university library databases and reference material search and retrieval procedures. Strong PC software skills are required along with knowledge of Stata, SPSS, SAS, NVivo or other statistical software packages. Demonstrable skills in using and executing functionalities within electronic data capture-type applications are also required; experience using REDCap is a strong asset.

Superior interpersonal, communication (oral/written) and organizational skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively with a diverse population and work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Salary Range: $33.59 - $45.31 per hour
