Research Associates:





Under the general direction of, and in collaboration with researchers and faculty members, positions at this level apply extensive knowledge in their field to perform high-level, complex research activities, and will normally hold a Master's degree. Individuals with training beyond a Master's degree who have limited experience may also be appointed into this classification level.


Position Overview:





This research project involves a systematic review of literature of three-way decision-making in machine learning tasks such as classification and clustering. The review includes both theory and applications involving either unimodal (ex: sentiment analysis) or multimodal data. The project also involves exploring extensions to the tolerance-based approach to the 3-way framework and conducting preliminary experiments. The RA is expected to prepare a peer-reviewed publication.




Duties and Responsibilities:




Conduct academic research and literature searches. Determine the appropriate methodology to carry out identified research goals. Design and implement experiments, data collection protocols. Interpret research findings and perform editorial tasks.

Qualifications:




Master's degree Experience conducting independent research Experience writing technical reports, including peer-reviewed articles

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
