This position will work in Dr. Dana Small\'s Laboratory.

Position Summary:

Research:

Work with MDPRC scientists and students to develop experimental hypotheses, protocols, and analysis plans. Oversee neuroimaging data quality control. Participate in data collection and the writing of manuscripts and presentations of findings at scientific meetings.

Methods Development:

Aid in the development of new technologies for researching gut-brain interactions in humans.

Training:

Train students to perform neuroimaging studies of feeding and to analyze neuroimaging data. This will include running short workshops for trainees.

Policies and Procedures:

Write and maintain human subjects research protocols in good standing. Write and maintain best practices guide for study protocols.

Education: Assist in course development, teaching, workshops, journal clubs and MDPRC annual meetings.

Qualifications:

PhD in preferred areas of Neuroscience or Engineering, with minimum 4 years of experience since PhD. Two years relevant experience in neuroimaging, Expertise in high field neuroimaging Understanding and hands-on experience with gustometery. Familiarity with a wide range of neuroimaging software such as SPM, AFNI, Free Surfer, FSL. Experience working in a dynamic environment. Must be able to manage a diverse set of obligations on a daily basis with rapidly changing demands and priorities. Strong interpersonal skills for working with participants and hospital research unit staff. Ability to communicate complex ideas to trainees. Ability to work independently and efficiently but also work well as a part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication in English. Strong verbal and written communication in other languages would be an asset.

Hourly Salary: $39.22

Hours per Week: 40 (Full time)
