We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with experience in statistical approaches applied to genetic and genomics data. The candidate will join the type-2 diabetes working group led by Dr. Dupuis, whose team supports large consortia aimed at gaining a better understanding of the genetic and genomics mechanisms underlying type-2 diabetes and its complications.



Position Summary:

• 
  Propose and assist with the implementation of new statistical approaches
• 
  Implement and perform data quality procedures, as applied to genetics/genomics data
• 
  Manipulate large files, and extract the required information
• 
  Perform statistical analyses
• 
  Prepare result files, merging information from publicly available databases
• 
  Work closely with other members of the type-2 diabetes working group located at multiple institutions to develop and share scripts for analyses
• 
  Assist in grant applications and manuscript preparation and revisions
• 
  Along with PI, provide supervision to research assistants
• 
  Undertake mandatory training as required by the University, School, and Department

Education and Experience:


PhD or equivalent relevant experience in (bio)statistics, computer science, data science or related area.



Qualifications:

• 
  Experience with genetics/genomics data analysis
• 
  The ability to give feedback and communicate results clearly and effectively, and to discuss scientific ideas within the work environment.
• 
  Excellent record keeping and efficiency
• 
  Excellent at trouble shooting own work and the work of others
• 
  The ability to work on several projects in parallel
• 
  The ability to work in a team

Work Location: 100% in-person or hybrid
