PRIMARY DUTIES
The research associate will use molecular biology and biochemical techniques to study the genetic and epigenetic landscapes of pediatric brain tumours. Their work will also involve the generation and analysis of genomic and epigenomic data.
Primary Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain preclinical models to study pediatric brain tumours

  • Design and perform genomic/epigenomic profiling experiments; analyze the resulting datasets

  • Design and plan follow-up experiments to validate the findings of genomic/epigenomic data generated in the lab; lead the execution of such experiments

  • Oversee research projects

  • Co-supervise graduate and undergraduate students (including troubleshooting and analyzing experimental data)

  • Write or assist with grant applications and manuscripts for publication

  • Present research results at scientific meetings

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
PhD degree in a biochemical or biological discipline with at least 5 years of research experience
OTHER QUALIFYING SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Extensive experience in epigenomic data generation and analysis

  • Extensive experience in preclinical model development

  • Prior experience in developmental biology

  • Prior experience in chromatin biology

  • Strong publication record in reputable peer-reviewed journals

  • Knowledge of data processing and statistical analysis

  • Self-motivated and excellent team player

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and communication skills in English

  • Excellent organizational skills















Hourly Salary: $38.26
