In accordance with the Trust/Research Academic Staff Agreement, this position has a comprehensive benefits package and an annual salary range of $59,822 -$82,266. This position has an initial appointment of 1 year.
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta is one of Canada's leading academic health centres for pediatric specialty and subspecialty education and research. This position will advance analytic research and scholarship within the CHILD Cohort Study, including preparation for the 16-year visit. In addition, the position will support the development and implementation of the Alberta Child Health Strategy, contributing to cross-sector research, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven policy recommendations.

Designs and implements analytic protocols, data pipelines, and advanced statistical models.
Presents research findings at scientific meetings and publishes in peer-reviewed journals.
Collaborates across multi-institutional networks to support pediatric cohort research.
Engages with clinical settings to inform and refine real-world research applications.
Assists with grant writing and identification of future funding opportunities.
Contributes to the design and execution of the Alberta Child Health Strategy through foundational research, stakeholder engagement, environmental scans, and strategy co-development.
Synthesizes evidence and best practices from national and international jurisdictions to inform health policy reform.
Engages with Indigenous communities, education and social service sectors to ensure culturally responsive and integrated strategy development.
PhD in Epidemiology, Public Health, or related discipline
Proficiency with R, Python, SQL, and Stata for health data analysis
Demonstrated ability in cohort research, statistical modeling, and stakeholder engagement
Experience with interdisciplinary clinical research and academic dissemination
Familiarity with provincial child health systems, equity strategies, and multi-sector collaboration.
Knowledge of evidence-based policy development and child health indicators, particularly in the context of health system integration and reform.
Strong organizational and communication skills
