Job Overview


MedMetrics Inc., is currently seeking a highly talented and driven Research Associate with expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and medical imaging to join our R&D team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing a bespoke medical imaging software package, contributing to the design, implementation, and validation of advanced AI-driven image analysis tools. This role requires a deep understanding of various programming languages and big data technologies, as well as the capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive our ML & AI initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop and optimize ML/AI algorithms for medical image analysis and feature extraction. Design and implement image processing workflows using Python and MATLAB. Apply and fine-tune deep learning architectures (e.g., U-Net, CNNs) using PyTorch or TensorFlow. Integrate image analysis methods (OpenCV, Scikit-Image) into custom software solutions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate research outputs into robust, deployable tools. Maintain clear documentation of methods, models, and results for internal and regulatory use.

Qualifications & Experience:



MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, AI, or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience with medical imaging and machine learning model development. Strong programming skills in Python, with proficiency in MATLAB and key ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.). Hands-on experience with OpenCV, Scikit-Image, and common image analysis techniques. Solid understanding of data handling, model validation, and performance optimization.

Additional Requirements:



Must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and Intellectual Property (IP) Agreement). Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills within a fast-paced R&D environment.

Desirable Skills:



Experience with DICOM/NIfTI medical image formats and healthcare data standards. Familiarity with cloud-based ML tools, Docker, or software integration frameworks. Experience in algorithm deployment and performance benchmarking in production environments. Scientific publications and presentations

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $18.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
