Job summary:

Working under the close supervision of Prof. Benoit Champagne from the Department of Electrical an Computer Engineering, the candidate will conduct advanced research in the fields of signal processing and wireless communications.

The research work, which is part of a larger collaborative project under funding from NSERC and InterDigital Canada, aims to develop new signal processing algorithms operating at sub-Nyquist sampling rate for the estimation of key system parameters in large-scale antenna array systems used for wireless communications at terahertz THz frequencies.

The main duties of the candidate include:

To conduct survey of the relevant literature on sub-Nyquist signal processing;

To develop new algorithm for estimation of direction of arrival (DOA) and high resolution beamforming in large-scale massive MIMO systems;

To evaluate the newly developed algorithms by means of Monte Carlo simulation using Matlab and other related software available in Prof. Champagne\xe2\x80\x99s laboratory;

To report the research finding in the form of scientific manuscript for submission to a peer-reviewed conference in the field (e.g. IEEE VTC or IEEE Globecom).

It is a 16 weeks contract - 7.5 hours per week

Qualifications:

PhD in Electrical Engineering with specialization in signal processing and wireless communications and at least five (5) years of research experience .

Demonstrated ability to carry on academic research project in the above fields, as demonstrated by publication record in high-level peer reviewed journals and conferences.
