Position Overview

The Department of Radiology in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for Research Assistant. This Fixed Term Full-time position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

Reporting to the Lab Manager.

The Research Assistant will work on a variety of research projects in the area of child, adolescent, and young adult mental health. They will be responsible for supporting research projects through study participant data collection, managing research databases, and data reporting.

The position will require a flexible schedule to accommodate occasional after-hours work (early morning, late evening, and weekends) and travel to different recruitment sites.

Position Description

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

Positive interactions with research participants and fellow research staff

Management of participant intake and scheduling

Collection of various types of human research data including questionnaires, behavioural tasks, and neuroimaging

Collection of biological samples (e.g., saliva)

Assist with and conduct literature reviews and knowledge synthesis

Assist with preparation of research documents (research protocols, questionnaires, reports, and manuscripts)

Meeting performance goals such as number of participants intake/seen within a given period

Timely data reporting, according to deadlines

Maintenance of complex data so it can be accessed an analyzed by all members of the research team

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in a health-related field, preference given to Neuroscience or mental health related field
  • Minimum 3 years of research related experience including interactions with research participants, knowledge synthesis, data management, and generating reports
  • Demonstrated strong communication, time management and organization skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and work independently to meet deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Quantitative data analysis experience
  • Qualitative data analysis experience preferred
  • Previous experience with REDCap, preferred
