Phragmites (Phragmites australis ssp. australis). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake field work and support a team of research associates, scientists and land managers working to implement Phragmites biological control across southern Ontario.Your responsibilities will include:

• Following rules and procedural instructions when administering research studies
• Recording and tabulating experiment results
• Providing some care to prevent physical or emotional injury or harm
• Providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
• One (1) year of experience supporting research by organizing materials and recording experiment results
• Experience assisting research in entomology/ecology/invasion science
• Experience following rules and procedural instructions when administering research studies
• Experience providing orientation to others on work procedures and practices
• Experience providing some care to prevent physical or emotional injury or harm
• Experience generating reports and coding quantitative data
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and occasional competing deadlines
• Proven ability to deal with people in a tactful and effective manner
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work occasional weekends for field work and insect/plant rearing

Assets (Nonessential):

• Experience with the biology and ecology ofinvasive plants of Ontario, specifically common reed, Phragmites australis ssp. australis
