The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world\'s leading research centres in its field. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated care. CAMH is seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Assistant 2. This position will primarily focus on a study that bridges the Toronto Adolescent and Youth (TAY) Cohort Study and the Centre for Youth Bipolar Disorder (CYBD). TAY is a 5-year research study that will recruit and follow 1,500 youth to determine who is at highest risk of developing psychosis and the relationship between risk and functional outcomes. CYBD is a clinical research program focused on youth bipolar disorder. Reporting to the Research Managers and working closely with the study teams, you will support coordination of recruitment and retention of study participants. You will assist with recruiting and screening study participants, obtaining informed consent, scheduling participant interviews, and coordinating sample and data collection from participants. Other duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), data entry and data quality control tasks, and maintenance of study documents and databases. You will support and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position requires some evenings and weekend shifts and is primarily located at 1001 Queen Street site, with some travel between sites, as required. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a three years Community College with a background in health or social sciences, or equivalent. Experience working or volunteering in a child and youth-focused clinical research setting is required. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting project deadlines and requirements. Strong PC software skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel) and library literature search databases (e.g., PsycINFO, PubMed, MedLine) are required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience supporting youth engagement projects and/or youth advocacy initiatives is an asset. Experience with Electronic Data Capture Systems such as REDCap is an asset. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively and to work independently. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code. Please Note: This full-time, contract (12 months) position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit. Salary Range: $24.00 - $29.60 per hour
