We are looking for an action-oriented, curious, and well-organized Research Assistant to assist the McGill PBRN with a variety of research-related tasks in support of several small network-level projects on primary care practice-based research, including: support to research proposal development; conduct of practice surveys; support and maintenance of our patient partner group; and being available to support clinician research projects as needed. The PBRN also seeks to develop research toolkits and workshops for clinicians interested in undertaking research. The research assistant will consolidate available resources, such as validating items for questionnaires, roadmaps for proposal development, and checklists for IRB applications.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Support protocol development or execution of practice-based research projects (e.g., execute narrative literature reviews, conduct interviews or surveys in practice) Support the creation of presentation materials and writing of manuscripts as needed Identify and catalogue appropriate supporting documents for practice-based research projects (e.g., recruitment materials, interview guides, consultation agenda, questionnaire item banks) Participate in weekly PBRN executive team meetings, as well as any relevant meetings at clinical sites Maintain research project documentation Maintain and promote the growth of our patient-partner engagement program in collaboration with the patient partner leads, and support its deployment.


Qualifications:Post-graduate training in a relevant health or social science. At least an MSc2 in Family Medicine Research is required; a PhD or a completed MSc is an asset. Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and French are essential. All tools and communications will be made available in both languages. Knowledge of primary care and the discipline of family medicine. (Completion of Foundations of Family Medicine, FMED 610, is an asset) Knowledge of research methods and analysis relevant to primary care (surveys, qualitative approaches, participatory research, quantitative analysis). Proficiency in a variety of software and tools for documentation, simple analysis, document production, presentation materials, and cataloging. Excellent organizational skills: capacity to plan, execute, and troubleshoot. Independence: able to work independently with little direct supervision. Good ability to plan and manage workload within tight deadlines. Ability to travel to different McGill teaching clinics in the greater Montreal area as needed
