Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Research and Development Technologist will play a key role in supporting pharmaceutical research, medical product development, and manufacturing process development and optimization. This position involves hands-on laboratory experimentation, formulation development, analytical testing, and process evaluation to advance projects from concept through scale-up. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in lab and pilot scale manufacturing techniques and an understanding of regulatory and quality standards applicable to food, cosmetics, and drug development and manufacturing.
Key Responsibility
Conduct lab-scale experiments for the development and evaluation of food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and medical products, including solid, liquid, and semi-solid dosage forms.
Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental and process data with accuracy and precision, to support scale-up process studies, analysis, and scale-up cost estimation and analysis.
Support manufacturing process development by assisting in scale-up studies, technology transfer, process setup, and process optimization activities.
Support troubleshooting of lab and pilot scale production procedures and process-related issues.
Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, batch records, SOPs, and documentation for regulatory submissions and bulk product manufacturing.
Assist in the development and validation of scale-up production process and procedures, to support process and procedure development of large-scale commercial production.
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and pilot-scale equipment such as testing instruments, reactors, mixers, and other lab to pilot scale processing equipment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Production, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure smooth R&D project execution.
Document all research and development work in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice and company quality management systems.
Support on maintaining a safe and compliant lab and manufacturing environment by following health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Other activities as per company business needs on product research, development, and manufacturing.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
0-3 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, process development, or manufacturing (co-op/internship experience may be considered).
