Role Description



This is a full-time on-site role located in Markham, ON, for a Senior Electrical Engineer - Research and Development (R&D). The

Senior Electrical Engineer - R&D

is responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of electrical systems and components, with a strong emphasis on innovation and emerging technologies. This role involves driving research initiatives, integrating new technologies, and ensuring that electrical systems meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to support the advancement of R&D projects.

Key Responsibilities



Research and Development



Conduct research to identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging electrical technologies. Develop innovative electrical solutions that align with R&D objectives. Investigate and assess the behavior of the Ionada's

carbon capture system

under various operating conditions. Lead the end-to-end design and development of electrical systems and components for new technologies.

Design and Implementation



Create detailed electrical schematics, drawings, and diagrams for product development. Ensure that electrical designs comply with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements. Oversee the implementation and integration of electrical systems in R&D projects. Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.

Testing and Validation



Design and perform functional tests to validate the performance and reliability of electrical systems. Conduct system-level testing and ensure compatibility with target use cases (e.g., patient workflows, industrial applications). Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, while optimizing overall system performance.

Leadership and Mentorship



Provide technical leadership during design reviews, offering strategic input and innovative solutions. Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering their growth and development. Share technical expertise and promote a collaborative knowledge-sharing environment.

Project Management



Prepare and present detailed technical reports, test results, and design documentation to support project milestones and decision-making.

Compliance and Documentation



Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory guidelines. Maintain thorough and accurate documentation for electrical systems, including schematics, reports, and change logs. Review and approve engineering documentation and technical drawings.

Industry Awareness and Innovation



Stay informed about the latest advancements in electrical engineering and related technologies. Represent the company in professional engineering forums, conferences, and industry networks. Understand and support the protection of intellectual property (IP) as a strategic business asset.

Qualifications



5 -10 years of appropriate experience in Electrical Engineering and Design University Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, preferably registered as a Professional Engineer of Ontario Experience with Power Systems and Power Distribution Proven ability to develop and test prototypes Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to ensure compliance with electrical standards and regulations Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Experience in the clean technology sector is a plus Meticulous attention to detail

Pay: $72,428.38-$117,830.27 per year
