The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health is seeking a full-time, contract (1 year) Research Analyst to support multiple clinical research studies. The Research Analyst will assist in preparation of protocols and Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions, regulatory submissions, data collection and analysis, grant writing, and manuscript preparation. The successful candidate will ensure that the research is performed according to the approved protocols. The Research Analyst will be responsible for supporting clinical research (sometimes at multiples sites) and will be directly involved in running some of the administration duties including recruitment and screening of study participants, scheduling participant interviews, obtaining informed consent, and administering study questionnaires. Strong writing skills are required as well as interest in training other members of the laboratory. Additional responsibilities will include ensuring milestone compliance and preparing reports to demonstrate this, tracking project expenses, and supporting the preparation of presentations and project reports for scientific and non-scientific audiences. The successful candidate will be able to work independently but also contribute to the overall organization of the laboratory. This position is primarily located at 100 Stokes Street, with the possibility of supporting TARL research at 33 Ursula Franklin Street.QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and 1 year of clinical research experience. Previous experience working with human participants is required, including experience administering Standardized Clinical Interviews for DSM-IV or 5 (SCID-IV or -5) and other clinical assessment scales. Experience in the conduct of clinical studies, including assisting with REB submissions is required and Clinical Trials Application (CTA) preparation is an asset. Previous experience supporting clinical research, including performing assessments and follow up visits is required. Experience working with patients with mental health and/or drug addiction is an asset. This position requires very strong interpersonal skills, combined with well-developed critical thinking abilities, flexibility, and initiative. Candidates require the ability to explain complex issues in plain language both verbally and in writing. Candidates will possess the ability for self-directed learning/working, as well as collaboration and teamwork. Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
