The Slaight Family Centre is a donor funded clinical research program for youth in transition, who are at-risk for, or at early stages of severe mental illness. The main goal of the Slaight Family Centre is to put more young people with severe mental illness on a path to recovery, through the development of new treatments, enhancement of early detection efforts, and clinical research.


We are seeking a full-time, contract (4 months) Research Analyst who will provide support to the Slaight Family Centre's research team, in collaboration with the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre, for a project on the intersection of early psychosis with neurodevelopmental disorders. Reporting to the Slaight Family Centre Research Operations Manager, you will assist with multiple studies and participate in projects as assigned. Research activities can include extracting information from electronic health records, data entry and database maintenance, leading statistical analysis, preparing data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers, supporting regulatory submissions, progress reports and Power Point presentations. Other administrative duties are also required. You will help support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable CAMH policies, as well as all regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West. You may be required to work evening hours to facilitate participant recruitment and data collection.


Job Requirements




The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, neurosciences or health sciences combined with at least one (1) year of relevant clinical or research experience with individuals and/or families with mental health and addiction issues. The role involves supporting multiple projects; the ability to multitask and collaborate effectively with colleagues and diverse stakeholders is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and integrate well into multidisciplinary and diverse teams. The position will require the candidate to articulate research questions, extract information from electronic health records, analyze and interpret data that is relevant to the intersection of early psychosis and neurodevelopmental disorders: experience studying and researching this population is required. Demonstrated communications skills (both oral and written) are required as is the ability to explain complex issues in plain language. The candidate will be detail oriented, well organized, with the ability to meet deadlines and to work independently with minimal supervision. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a variety of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency with word processing, PowerPoint and database software packages, data management tools (e.g., REDCap); maintaining and analyzing large databases; literature review and synthesis skills; statistical analyses and data interpretation are required. Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
