Research Analyst, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR)
We are an independent consultancy in Vancouver British Columbia, specializing in patient-centered research, epidemiology, evidence synthesis, and health economics. Our team includes qualitative researchers, epidemiologists, health economists, statisticians, and IT specialists. Our projects are led by senior team members with extensive experience across a wide range of HEOR studies.
We collaborate with an extensive network of external academic and clinical experts on studies that align with their core areas of expertise.
We are seeking an experienced research analyst to support systematic reviews and a broad range of health economic and epidemiologic research projects.
Responsibilities would include:
Contributing to design, protocol development, and implementation of systematic literature reviews (SLRs),
Taking responsibility for SLR conduct-related tasks (e.g., abstract review, data extraction),
Contributing to the conduct of meta-analyses and network meta-analyses (NMA),
Supporting statisticians implementing the analyses,
Contributing to feasibility assessment and interpreting the output,
Communicating results through slide deck development, report writing, and contributing to scientific publications, and
Potentially, based on skillset and interests, also contributing to:
o Epidemiologic study design and models,
o Economic models,
o Statistical analysis and data visualization (dependent on experience and training),
o General research support, and/or
o Assisting with client communications.
Required skills include:
Excellent oral and written communication,
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
Strong independent working skills, and
Organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently within a team environment as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Preferred skills include:
Strong skills developing literature searches in Medline, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases,
Familiarity with a statistical or data visualization package, and
Capability to conduct statistical analyses.
Education:
MSc or PhD in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Statistics, Biostatistics, or Public Health, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
2-4 years of health research experience in a consultancy (ideal) or academic work environment,
Experience with systematic reviews, and
Experience with at least one of observational studies or economic models.
Job Type: This is a permanent full-time position with preference to candidates located in Vancouver, Toronto, or Ottawa.
