The Forensic Research Division is currently seeking applications for a full-time, contract (12-month) Research Analyst.


Reporting to the Research Operations Manager, Clinical Research and working closely with scientists and clinicians, the successful candidate will assist in various projects related to forensic research and evaluation. Duties include but are not limited to the creation, scheduling and running of focus groups, administration of surveys, data collection and data entry; contributing to the preparation of presentations and peer reviewed research papers; knowledge transfer activities and organizing team research meetings. Other research administrative duties may be required. The candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is located at 1001 Queen Street West.


Job Requirements




The successful candidate will have a Baccalaureate degree in psychology, social sciences or a related discipline, combined with one year of relevant experience. Experience in the areas of mental health and forensics would be an asset. The ideal candidate will have experience in qualitative research methods and literature searches. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and organization skills are required. Previous experience working with individuals with forensic involvement an asset. Strong PC software skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), online academic search engines (e.g., PsycINFO, PubMed, Medline) and the ability to learn new programs as necessary is required. Familiarity with qualitative software such as NVivo or survey software such as REDCap, Qualtrics, or Survey Monkey is an asset. Experience in summarizing data for presentations is an asset. The successful candidate will have excellent capacity for self-directed learning/working and require minimal supervision. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and be able to exercise initiative and good judgment. We are looking for someone who can multi-task and produce high-quality, accurate work while meeting deadlines and requirements. Candidates require the ability to work effectively in a wide-range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.
