Candidate Specification

  • Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • P.Eng in Alberta, BC or Ontario or able to register
  • Minimum 3-7 years\' progressive experience in Requirements Engineering and/or Quality Assurance and/or Software Design Engineering with experience in rail or transport related projects.
  • Working knowledge in a minimum of one of the following:
  • Requirements Management
  • Integration and Interface Management
  • IEC 15288: 2015
  • With an understanding of the remainder.
  • Experience with DOORS Next or Jama Connect is desirable.
  • INCOSE ASEP certification is desirable.
  • Good communication skills and English fluency.
  • Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi- disciplined team.
  • Able to hold competent technical discussions with Client representatives
  • Able to interface with domain specialists and client engineers, in a competent professional manner.
  • Experience of delivery within major infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of railway systems and / or operation within infrastructure projects / technology development and implementation projects.

Due to continued growth, Mott MacDonald\'s Canadian Rail Systems team is looking to hire adaptable and self-motivated Requirements Engineers/Specialists to enhance our Requirements groups in Vancouver and Toronto.

As rail & transit projects increase in complexity, there is an ever-increasing need for the application of good Systems Engineering process to ensure these projects can be delivered successfully. Requirements Engineering is a key discipline, fundamental to delivery of System Engineering driven, high-quality projects.

The successful applicants will develop and support the execution of the requirements engineering and assist in the requirements management activities on projects executed by Mott MacDonald in North America with responsibility for those projects occurring in Canada.

The Role
  • You will assist in the development, delivery and maintenance of Requirements Engineering (RE) and Requirements Management (RM) processes and practices within MM\'s North American rail and rail-related projects. This will include the capture, elicitation and decomposition of requirements, as necessary this will include interfacing with Design, Project and Systems Engineering teams whilst delivering high quality, verifiable requirements to support all stages of a Project life-cycle.
  • Your role will include the collection, collation and curation of requirements and the application of Requirement Management tools such as Jama Connect\xc2\xae and DOORS in the development, verification and validation of ongoing Mott MacDonald projects.
  • You will work with clients, key delivery partners and service providers along with maintaining relationships with members of the Rail Systems Practice across North America as well as other transportation related teams.
