Your Challenge

Help bring research to life and drive your career forward with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Canada's largest research and technology organization.

We are looking for a Repository Partnerships Officer, Federal Science Library Network (FSLN) to oversee the business operations of the Federal Open Science Repository of Canada (FOSRC).

The FOSRC is an enterprise open science publication repository for federally sponsored research delivered by FSLN in collaboration with Shared Services Canada, the Office of the Chief Science Advisor, and eight science based departments and agencies. The Repository Partnerships Officer works closely with the collaborators to develop, maintain and deliver scalable and sustainable systems and services in support of the FOSRC program. NRC is the host of the FOSRC initiative and is the named employer of the FSLN operational team.

Working within the Federal Science Library Network team, the Repository Partnerships Officer's main responsibilities are to:
  • Manage collaborator relationships and horizontal activities
  • Administer contracts, agreements and budgets
  • Manage and support FOSRC governance committees
  • Coordinate the operation, support and enhancement of the FOSRC
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders from the library and science policy communities
Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:

Education

Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a master's degree in library science or in library and information science.

Experience
  • Significant experience in the management and delivery of initiatives in digital collections, institutional repositories, publishing or digital scholarship
  • Experience working collaboratively within and across organizational and community boundaries and in the delivery of outreach/stakeholder relations activities
  • Experience planning and executing projects
  • Experience with open source repository software applications such as Islandora, DSpace or Dataverse would be an asset.
*Significant experience is defined as more than 2 years of experience.

**Recent experience is defined as experience gained within the last 5 years.

Relocation

Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the NRC's directives.

Compensation

From $88,379 to $104,312 per annum.

In addition, the incumbent will receive the Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
