This role requires full time on site presence.
CBC New Brunswick seeks an experienced Reporter/Editor assigned to the weekend shifts. In this role, you will write text, edit audio and video, and package thorough, fact-checked, dynamic and compelling stories to connect with audiences across all platforms.
Your role
You'll work as part of CBC New Brunswick in collaboration with journalists across the region to deliver news and current affairs content on and from the weekend. Your work will be a mix of original stories and breaking news to serve our audiences in New Brunswick and beyond.
This is a part time permanent position (weekends).
This role requires full time on site presence.

Activities:Pitch original stories that can work as text, audio and video treatments.
Respond quickly to breaking news.
Write and package stories with photos and audio and video clips.
Take photos and gather audio and video.
Keep up to date on the changing media landscape.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:Journalism degree or equivalent experience working in a newsroom.
Ability to generate, pitch and pursue strong story ideas.
Excellent writing skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively; strong interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of industry trends.
Strong desire to live and promote the values of diversity and an inclusive and respectful work culture.
Sound news judgment.
Ability to work effectively under newsroom deadline pressure.
Willingness and ability to work a variety of shifts, including early starts, late finishes and weekends.
Good knowledge of current events and key issues in New Brunswick and the Atlantic provinces.
Possession of a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada's insurance company.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
