The Repair Shop Technician provides a variety of services year round from ski and board in the winter and bike tuning in the summer. While servicing the equipment, the Repair Technician will support the supervisor with fleet maintenance of ski, boards and bikes and mill pond trikes and other boat repairs at the beach. In addition they will help with the rental and maintenance of bike, fat bike, and snowshoe fleet and support the valet team with equipment that is handed in.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?
  • Work in a professional manner and be able to explain technical terms in a manner that the guest will understand.
  • Conduct the following repairs, (under supervision), to both guest and rental equipment: sidewall repairs, edge repairs, installation of bindings, top sheet repairs and general tune ups minor repairs to bikes, snowshoes, and boats if required.
  • Responsible for following the shop safety guidelines at all times.
  • Perform opening and closing duties for the shop.
  • Ensure all repair liability forms are signed by both the guest and technician.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the shop and ensure proper storage of all equipment.
  • Tune and repair the rental fleet to the schedule directed by the Supervisor.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Repair or Rental Supervisor.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
  • Physically able to lift up to 40lbs
  • Must be customer service oriented with previous experience
  • Must be team orientated.
  • Basic knowledge of ski/board construction and binding design and function.
  • Basic knowledge of bicycle maintenance and experience with bikes considered an asset
  • Must achieve 80% or higher on multiple binding manufacturer exams
  • Must move with a sense of urgency comparable to business levels
  • Must remain focused & be thorough with assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Punctuality & an excellent record of attendance
  • Past repair shop experience an asset.
  • Strong technical understanding of ski and snowboard hard goods an asset
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings and holidays including, Christmas Break, Family Day Weekend and March Break.
