Job Description

Description: A Remote Sensing Specialist utilizes satellite imagery, aerial photography, and other remote sensing technologies to collect and analyze data for environmental monitoring, urban planning, agriculture, and natural resource management.

Responsibilities:

Collecting and processing remote sensing data using satellite sensors, drones, and other platforms.
Analyzing and interpreting imagery to extract geospatial information and identify patterns and trends.
Conducting spatial analysis and modeling to assess environmental conditions, land use changes, and resource management.
Collaborating with scientists, researchers, and policymakers to support decision-making and policy development.
Developing and implementing remote sensing techniques and workflows for specific applications and projects.

Qualifications:

Strong background in geography, geomatics, remote sensing, or related fields.
Proficiency in remote sensing software and GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or ENVI.
Knowledge of image processing techniques, classification algorithms, and spatial analysis methods.
Familiarity with satellite imagery datasets and sensors (e.g., Landsat, Sentinel, MODIS).
Previous experience in remote sensing roles or related environmental science disciplines.
