Remediation Technician Lead (asbestos Abatement)

Job Description

When disasters happen, Remediation Technician Leads at On Side are truly on 'your side'. Asbestos and mould can pop-up anywhere and requires special knowledge and experience to deal with. Remediation Leads can direct the Remediation team while performing remediation services and protecting the health and safety of workers and clients.

The Lead on this team reports to the Operations Manager/Remediation Manager and helps with the day-to-day on-site direction of the team. Leading communications with Project Managers, Adjusters and trades, communication skills are a necessary requirement of the job.

Remediation Technician Leads are responsible for:



Leading and providing direction to the team Communicating with cross-functional teams and clients Ensuring a safe work area from asbestos by knowing how to remove and remediate potential dangers from the work site Identifying and disposing of asbestos contaminated materials Identifying and disposing of mould contaminated materials Recording info as required (using provided technology and applications)

What you bring:



Type 3 Asbestos Certification (preferred) You have lead a team and also enjoy doing the work Organized with a good sense of time-- you're rarely late and know where all your tools are Great communication skills, spoken and written Tech savvy- you can learn computer programs and applications and use them on the job Physically fit-- remediation can, at times, include heavy lifting and getting into (and out of) tight places Friendly and enjoys working in a team! A safety-first mindset Valid driver's licence and a clean criminal record (we do check) Ability to communicate in English, spoken and written

Asbestos remediation ticket (Level 3) A background in demolition Construction experience

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour

This position requires leading the Remediation team, communicating with clients and project managers, working on the tools, using computer programs and applications to record information on phones/tablets, with a Type 3 certification preferred.

Are you able to work later than scheduled when required? A job may require an additional hour or two of overtime to be fully complete. Being available to work a bit extra to get the job done is helpful (vs returning the next day for a quick finish). Overtime is paid. This position can be physically demanding and requires a person to bend, crouch, reach, kneel, etc. Heavy lifting is also a job requirement. Will this activity be a problem?
