Our Team:
The Supervisory Team at Copper Cliff Nickel Refinery is integral to the success of the operation in becoming a safe, predictable, and reliable producer. Come and join our team at Copper Cliff Nickel Refinery!

The Opportunity:
We are currently seeking a Relief Production Supervisor to join our Copper Cliff Nickel Refinery team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

The job holder will continuously improve the work team performance through the effective use of established processes and procedures in achieving assigned objectives. Improve the effectiveness of the front-line team while meeting the business objectives. This includes ensuring the completion of assigned work with consistency and accuracy. This position is located at our surface operations within the Sudbury basin.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Work shift work (rotational 12-hour shifts on a 28-day schedule).
  • Hold team accountable for safety, behavior, housekeeping, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Supervise the execution of planned work in and around the shaft as well as support process.
  • Carryout tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designate to achieve the desired results within an agreed upon timeline and end state.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards to execute Safety and Execution Plans as established by the Superintendent or his/her designate.
  • Foster a climate of safety, mutual trust, and respect among all members of his/her team.
  • Work collectively with peers and cross functionally with colleagues in engineering, geology, maintenance, and services to achieve the objectives of the mine.
  • Focus on results.
  • Follow Vale\xe2\x80\x99s Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards.
About You

Education:
  • Grade 12 level education or GED equivalency is preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience leading crews.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within SAP.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
Skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
