Position Description: To evaluate processes and systems to achieve optimum results in efficiency, quality, and productivity; Provide leadership and act as liaison for manufacturing on projects and communicate progress to Technical Operations management.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

  • Plan and always operate with safety in mind.
  • Adhere to all Elanco safety policies and practices such as lock out tag out (LOTO), confined space, PPE, working at heights and working alone.
  • Foster and establish collaborative environment between all M&Q departments and other technical experts covering the electrical, HVAC, controls and building support systems.
  • Uses data to analyze equipment performance.
  • Identifies required improvement projects, gains alignment, and plan / coordinates their implementation.
  • Ensure adherence to all procedures and standards for a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility.
  • Provides technical input into equipment related deviations. (Failures)
  • Updates CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) with effective work plans to ensure they are descriptive and per manufacturers recommendations.
  • Perform routine inspections on equipment, facilities, and systems to determine their condition.
  • Responsible for annual and routine tank inspections to assess condition, document, track actions for follow up, and release for GMP production.
  • Coordinate any downtime required for work with operations and maintenance team.
  • Participates in the planning of building / systems shutdowns.
  • Work with the Maintenance team to track spare parts availability, critical stock levels and input to the CMMS Equipment Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Assist in conducting preliminary studies of engineering projects and development of new equipment specifications.
  • Review plans, maps, specifications and other related work for accuracy and conformance with established engineering practices.
  • Ensure alignment of activities carried out by 3rd party while providing strong technical expertise to support maintenance and operations.
  • Provides input into design of new capital projects from an equipment selection and maintenance viewpoint.
  • Other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):
  • Minimum of degree in Engineering, preferably industrial, Mechanical or process engineering is required.
  • Must have a high attention to detail.
  • Must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
  • Must have the ability to plan and structure work to meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to effectively work with teams.
  • Must have the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
Other:
  • Must have the flexibility/ability to work evenings and weekends if the business requires it.
  • Must have the flexibility/ability to work overtime if the business requires it.
