Are you an experienced engineer that enjoys continuous improvement, leverages technical expertise, and builds strong relationships across diverse teams. We are recruiting for a reliability engineer to join our Baseplant Mine Reliability Engineering team. You will be responsible for optimizing the cost, risk and performance of mine mobile equipment assets throughout their lifecycle.
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or mining engineering; technologist with relevant industry experience will also be considered
Four to seven years of experience in mine mobile equipment maintenance, reliability engineering, or asset lifecycle assessment
Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)
Strong analytical skills with experience using maintenance management system (CMMS/SAP) to extract and analyze work order data
Experience with GE APM considered an asset
Experience with failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), root cause analysis (RCA), or reliability-based maintenance approaches
Experience managing reliability or improvement projects and programs
Responsibilities:Develop and implement equipment strategies and lifecycle plans to optimize asset performance and longevity
Assess the effectiveness of existing maintenance strategies and recommend improvements to support long-term asset management objectives
Alignment with other sites regionally for synergies in asset strategies
Capture and analyze asset performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Identify reliability issues and "bad actors" within the fleet, and develop targeted mitigation plans
Analyze failure reports, and provide actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence
Lead and manage reliability, engineering improvement, safety, and compliance projects from initiation to completion
Ensure all mobile equipment assets comply with regulatory requirements, safety policies, and corporate engineering standards
Develop and maintain engineering documentation, standards, and procedures to support asset integrity and reliability
Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering teams, and external partners to support asset reliability and project execution
Present findings, recommendations, and technical information clearly to stakeholders at all levels
Location and other Key Details:This position is located at Suncor Base plant location in Fort McMurray, Alberta
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
