The De Beers Group has a full-time opportunity for a Reliability Analyst within the Mobile Maintenance department at the Gahcho Ku\xc3\xa9 Mine located in the Northwest Territories. Reporting to the Reliability Engineer, the Reliability Analyst has a significant role in improving equipment reliability and maintenance. This position is responsible for defect elimination, condition monitoring and asset management programs for mobile mining equipment. The focus for this role is minimizing unplanned equipment downtime and preserving the equipment functionality in a cost-effective manner while ensuring that all safety, environmental, and legal requirements are met. This position addresses equipment breakdowns and performance issues by minimizing production downtime and maintenance costs. This will be achieved through equipment downtime analysis, equipment condition monitoring, maintenance tactics review, root cause analysis, and life cycle cost analysis.

Key responsibilities:

Health and Safety
  • Takes reasonable care to protect their safety and health, and that of other persons who may be affected by any act or omission thereof;
  • Takes proper care of safety and health facilities and equipment provided for the protection of their safety and health, and that of other persons;
  • Reports to their immediate supervisor any situation, which they believe, presents a risk to their safety or health, that of any other person or that may be detrimental to the environment;
  • Co-operates with any person to permit compliance with the duties and responsibilities placed on that person in terms of De Beers and Gahcho Ku\xc3\xa9 Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures;
  • Assist maintenance execution teams to conduct job risk assessments and safe work plans ahead of the work being completed;
  • Ensures own and others compliance to relevant Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practices; and
  • Stay abreast of all relevant legal and legislative requirements and ensure compliance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret asset condition data daily and initiate actions. Work with the planning department and maintenance team to confirm and execute actions;
  • Support Reliability Engineer in a continuous review and improvement process for condition monitoring programs;
  • Work closely with Trade personnel regarding utilizing lubrication sampling best practices and contamination control programs;
  • Participate in reviews for asset maintenance requirements;
  • Monitor equipment performance and evaluate equipment downtime history and failure trends to determine sources of poor equipment performance;
  • Support the reliability engineer in applying component life extension programs;
  • Assist in routine failure investigation and root cause analysis and developing solutions to eliminate potential failure(s);
  • Support planning, and Execution of reliability Improvement projects specifically intended to improve mobile fleet availability and performance;
  • Carry out daily data collection and monitoring and reporting on operational performance against KPIs;
  • Support review/development of asset maintenance tactics and strategies to facilitate reliability centered maintenance program implementation;
  • Assist in life cycle costing/analysis to support financial decision-making, like end-of-life repair-replace decisions or selection of new assets; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
Technical
  • Maintain and perform condition monitoring programs and technologies, including, but not limited to: Thermography, Vibration, Ultrasound and Lubrication Analysis; and
  • Perform Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Oil Filtration, Thermography, NDT Testing, failure investigation, and Root Cause Analysis.
Co-worker effectiveness
  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with co-workers to resolve problems;
  • Regularly review relationship with supervisor, peers and subordinates; and
  • Discuss and set objectives to improve relationships with co-workers.
The role is a site-based position working Monday to Thursday on a 4 days in/ 3 days out rotation. The point of pick up will be Yellowknife, NWT.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical/electrical technologist Diploma or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with mobile/fixed plant maintenance;
  • Experience with condition monitoring techniques including Thermography, Vibration, Ultrasound and Lubrication Analysis;
  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance principles and techniques;
  • Data analysis and statistical analysis skills;
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Verbal and Written communication skills; and
  • Computer Skills - MS Office and SAP.
