Our Major Projects & Approvals team work on a diverse range of projects bringing innovative approaches to regulatory strategy and a robust roadmap for all phases of projects, identifying specialized study requirements, and providing clarity in communicating and advising on complex scientific matters. Our deep expertise and pioneering approaches bring high quality outcomes for clients and communities. You will have the support of an experienced team in Canada and a sizeable team of technical specialists in Australia.
Here's what you can expect in your new role with EMM:
You'll be a key member of the team and play a crucial role in the development of our Canadian business, by leading the development and oversight of permitting services for the mining sector in Canada.
Working in close collaboration with our Market Lead for mining on our growth strategy and with an outstanding group of technical specialists; here's what you can look forward to in your new role:
Lead Projects: Lead the delivery of high-quality outcomes for a range of clients and regulatory permitting projects in a Project Director capacity across multiple jurisdictions, with an initial focus on British Columbia and the Yukon Territory.
Mentor & Develop: Grow and elevate a high-performing team of environmental professionals through coaching and leadership, contributing to hiring strategy and talent attraction.
Shape Strategy: Influence and contribute to business strategy to grow EMM's mining permitting practice across Canada, working closely with the Mining Market Leads in Canada and Australia to support delivery of the grounded strategy we have developed. As a close-knit global team, this is an opportunity to work locally and influence, shape and contribute globally
Engage the Market: Build awareness of EMM's expertise through industry engagement, client relationships, and representing EMM at Canadian mining conferences, adopting a seller-doer model.
Deliver Impact: Focus exclusively on environmental projects where we can make a positive difference and deliver quality outcomes.
Here's what you'll bring to have impact:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an environmentally related field
Your established leader with deep expertise in regulatory permitting requirements, leading multi-disciplinary projects across multiple jurisdictions in Canada
20+ years of experience in environmental consulting with at least 5 years in a senior technical role in or related to regulatory permitting for mining projects
Established relationships and a trusted advisor to clients in mining and minerals sector with a track record of making an impact through leading innovation and high quality outcomes
Established relationships with government agencies and regulators
A strategic and an entrepreneurial mindset
Passion for mentoring and team development.
