Job Summary


The Registrar's Office (RO) is a large, multi-site operation involved in the entire academic experience of Dalhousie students, from recruitment and admissions through to convocation and beyond. Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Registration and Academic Scheduling, the Registration, Academic Scheduling and Transfer Credit Clerk is responsible for the production and maintenance of the University's approved course catalogue, the maintenance of the academic timetable, and the production and implementation of the formal examination schedule. The incumbent is also responsible, on a consultative basis, to review and assess transfer credits for university equivalency, ensuring adherence to established guidelines. They will contact academic departments, provide course information, record courses not previously assessed, and update Dalhousie's database once the assessment is completed.


Key Responsibilities


Maintain the University's academic timetable, including additions, deletions, and modifications to course offerings. Liaise with academic departments and internal staff regarding course offerings and related details, including troubleshooting errors that may be affecting students' ability to register in courses. Maintain the University's Approved Course Catalogue, including additions, deletions, and modifications, ensuring consistency with University policies and regulations. Participate in the distribution of duties, daily tasks, and training of temporary and student staff. Review transcripts to determine if a course outline or description is necessary for their particular degree program and delegates accordingly while adhering to university policies. Ensure accurate and efficient processing of transfer credit while assigning transfer credits utilizing the current academic calendar and delegates accordingly.



Note


The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work from within Nova Scotia) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.


Required Qualifications


Completion of Business/Office Administration program Approximately five years' related work experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience). Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access). Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with close attention to detail, and ability to establish priorities to meet conflicting deadlines.



Assets


Experience with Banner Production, or a related system. Experience with Infosilem EnCampus Suite. Experience in a university environment.
