We are currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Technologist who shares those visions. A relocation allowance for candidates from out of town to assist with moving expenses can be arranged. The Comox Valley offers a wide spectrum of recreational activities and vibrant arts.

Duties

As a Veterinary Technologist, your responsibilities will include:

Administer and monitor anesthesia and analgesia . Maintaining accurate and timely record keeping Surgical preparation and patient recovery Provide sensitive, compassionate and nurturing care to our patients Procure quality radiology images, both general and dental Assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures Performing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging , including blood collection, cystocentesis, cytology , etc... Utilizing in house equipment and preparation to send out to lab for analysis Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by veterinarians Collecting and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and tissue Maintaining medical and surgical supply inventory Educating pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment

Skills

To excel in this position, candidates should possess the following skills:

Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technology program with certification and license as RVT Ability to manage and triage simultaneous priorities Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members Confident and Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals The understanding that it is teamwork that provides excellence in care

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
