with a passion for helping others. We are looking for a child and family therapist to join our growing private practice in Durham Region. This is an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR position.
At Thrive CBT, our mission is to empower people in their lives through the use of evidenced-based treatment. Our practice provides individual counselling and psychotherapy for adults (16+), as well as children/families.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessments, formulate treatment plans, and provide feedback to clients.
Provide individual and family counselling/psychotherapy through various methods (face-to-face and video).
Create and maintain progress notes, reports and any other written material required for each client in timely matter (according to your regulatory college standards).
Deliver evidence-based treatment services within declared competencies/populations.
Monitor client progress using clinical measures.
Meet with the larger team once/month for team consultation. Meet with the Clinical Director for regular supervision.
Ensure confidentiality and professionalism are maintained with the utmost respect.
Show ongoing commitment to professional development and competency building.
Report to the Clinical Director.
Support the practice with other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
Be a member, in good standing, with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience. This experience must include working with children and families.
Strong experience in assessing and treating a wide range of mental health concerns (including, but not limited to, anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, stress, trauma/PTSD and OCD).
Post-graduate training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is required.
Although other forms of therapy may be integrated into your treatment plan, Thrive CBT is devoted to the practice of CBT. As such, the clinician is expected to use CBT on a regular basis in their work with clients.
Experience working with couples and training in couples therapy would be considered additional valued assets.
Professional liability insurance coverage of $2,000,000.
Valid Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening (within the past six months).
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfort with practice management software and video counselling technology.
Excellent client service skills.
