AvantDerm is a unique and innovative dermatology clinic located in Toronto's Distillery District. As the first clinic in Canada to offer patients with a referral a daily walk-in option, we pride ourselves on delivering comprehensive dermatology services, including medical, cosmetic, and clinical trial treatments. We are expanding our dynamic nursing team and are seeking a part-time/flex confident, skilled Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join us.

We are looking for a creative, assertive, goal-driven, and energetic nurse with a passion for dermatology. The ideal candidate will have exceptional people skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a dedication to providing innovative, top-tier care to our medical and cosmetic patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Medical

Perform physical examinations and dermatological procedures such as cryotherapy, injections, wart treatments, laser therapy, skin biopsies, electrocautery, and specimen collection (skin, hair, nails, wound, viral). Assist physician during procedures such as excisions, shave electrodessication and curettage, biopsies, skin tag removal and cosmetic procedures. Provide counselling on preventative healthcare topics, such as skin cancers, atopic dermatitis, acne and phototherapy just to name a few. Educate patients about psoriasis and other conditions and administer phototherapy treatments. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Familiarity with dermatology and a strong interest in this field. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver friendly, efficient patient care in a busy, fast-paced environment. Detail-oriented with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office. Ability to learn and navigate an electronic medical record system.
