Job Summary
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides patient-centered care, works collaboratively with the healthcare team, and performs nursing duties within their scope of practice.
The RPN role at Alliance Specialty Care Centre will specifically be focused on working collaboratively with the Physician to provide iron infusion to patients.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care: Provide direct care, perform basic procedures such as IV set up and maintenance.
Medication Administration: Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
Patient Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs and patient conditions, reporting changes to the healthcare team.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, concise, and confidential patient records.
Collaboration: Work interdependently with physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and families on care and procedures, specifically Iron INfusion
Infection Control: Adhere to and promote infection prevention and control standards within the healthcare setting.
Administrative Duties:
May include tasks such as managing supplies, assisting with clinic procedures, and performing telephone triage.
Qualifications and Skills
Education:
Successful completion of an approved practical nursing program.
Licensure:
Current and valid registration as an RPN with the appropriate regulatory body.
Clinical Knowledge:
Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques. Specifically, the candidate must be proficient in Iron infusion procedures and be able to work with Infusion pumps.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with use of Infusion pumps and ability to perform Iron infusions are required.
Teamwork:
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare
