The Osgoode Care Centre is a not-for-profit, rural long term care home, located south of Ottawa in Metcalfe. It is home to 100 people who are dependent on our interdisciplinary team to help meet their physical, social, cognitive, emotional and spiritual needs, interests and wishes for their comfort and quality of life. Specialized resources available to support your clinical role include:

a. Nurse Practitioner

b. Geriatric Psychiatry Resource Nurse

c. Clinical Nurse Specialist

d. Skin and Wound Care Nurse

e. BSO Team

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Nurse will enhance ethe effective management and quality of nursing practice in keeping with the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, Fixing Long Term Care Act 2021, and the policies of the Osgoode Care Centre.

Requirements:

Excellent care planning and critical clinical thinking skills

Excellent assessment skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Interest in working with a senior population and experience working with persons with dementia

Excellent organizational, problem-solving and time management skills

Excellent team player, with ability to work with the various members of our interdisciplinary team

Knowledge of Point Click Care (PCC) and Point-of-Care (POC)

Knowledge of RAI-MDS

Excellent leadership skills

Ability to train and orient new staff

Completion of GPA, LEAP or PIECES is an asset

Experience in palliative care is an asset

Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) required.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $28.83-$30.14 per hour

AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
