e are a not-for profit organization with charitable status. We provide support to individuals living with a life-limiting illness and their families through: community visiting hospice, hospice residence, equipment lending, caregiver support, and grief and bereavement services. All services are provided to the community at no charge.

Hiring for: Registered Practical Nurse

Duties in hospice residence:

- Provide direct patient care in our 3 bed hospice residence
- Assess patient health status and develop/follow individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by primary care provider
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on disease progression, symptom treatment, and comfort measures
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as wound care, catheters, sub q ports, drains, CADD pumps
- Assist with infection control measures
- Document patient care and medication administration and delegation

-Coordinate admission/pronounce death as necessary

Part-Time Hours: Two 8 hour shifts (days/evenings) every 4 weeks (16 hours) plus 8 hours paid for one week of on-call for a total of 40 hours

Casual Hours: Minimum commitment of one 8 hour shift every 6 weeks (with option to pick up additional shifts or on-call as needed)

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
