Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our healthcare team in a busy Dermatology medical office. The RPN will play a vital role in patient care and assist Dr Lyne Giroux BSc MD FRCP(C) Dermatology and Dr Rose Yesovitch GPderm.

Responsibilities

Patient history intake with use of AI tool for accurate patient needs and concerns. Using Electronic Medical Record System - Telus PS Suite. Maintain accurate patient records using EMR. Clean exam rooms, prepare and set up for procedures, consent forms filled, assist doctors with procedures. Prepare specimens to send out for pathology, and maintain log book. Other tasks required: Suture removal, Injections, Spraying of liquid nitrogen, wart treatments, wound debridement to name a few. Education to patients on surgery before and after care, Biologics, Skin Cancers, Rashes, etc... ensuring patient comfort and addressing concerns promptly if still needing guidance and clarification. Clerical duties, such as faxing, photocopying, answering phones, answering emails, filling out forms (insurance, program enrollment...), scanning. Calling patients with test results. Cleaning and maintenance of medical tools using proper sterilization procedures. Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients. Assist with Phototherapy treatments when needed and other tasks as they come up.

Skills/Asset

Licensed Registered Practical Nurse in Ontario, and registered with the College of Nurses. English and French oral and written. Knowledge of dermatology an asset. Ability to work in fast pace environment. Work independent and as a team. Problem solving skills, ability to adapt to new tasks or changes. Familiarity with electronic health records. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
