Reporting to the Director of Care, the
Registered Practical Nurse
supervises and directs the care given by PSWs while assisting our residents in their activities of daily living, providing skilled care in an empathetic and nurturing manner. As our successful candidate, you will be a dynamic, self-motivated nursing professional interested in providing quality-focused care to older adults in a home-like atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in assessment of residents' needs making recommendations for changes to care plans while providing hands-on, clinical nursing care, including medication administration and assisting in the Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as required.
Under the direction of the Director of Wellness supervise and direct the PSWs in the provision of care in a manner that promotes dignity, compassion, and is in adherence to Care Plans;
Ensure clear and appropriate communication occurs across the department, residence, and with families
Promote positive relationships with staff, physicians, and external care providers to ensure high quality service is provided to residents and resources are efficiently utilized.
Complete all required reports, maintaining accurate records or nursing observations and procedures performed in the department in accordance to company policies.
Actively participate in ongoing professional development including in-services, seminars, and monthly training as directed.
Qualifications:
Current registration and in good standing with the
College of Nurses of Ontario.
Solid understanding of
CNO practice standards and professional guidelines
, with a commitment to staying current as regulations evolve.
Genuine
empathy and respect for older adults
, including those living with physical or cognitive challenges.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification
(current and in good standing).
Must have comprehensive knowledge of medication administration practices.
Must be able to work weekends, varied shifts, call-ins, and holidays as assigned.
Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills and be able to work as part of a team.
