About The South Huron Hospital Association (SHHA):
We serve the Municipality of South Huron and its adjacent communities--a catchment area of approximately 19,000 residents. The hospital is located in the village of Exeter, approximately 30 minutes north of London, and provides 24/7 emergency services in addition to acute, rehabilitation and complex continuing care inpatient services and various diagnostic and ambulatory services. Our staff also supports family practice and walk-in care at the South Huron Medical Centre. Job Duties:
Applies the nursing process and patient- and family- centered care principles in supporting patients with acute medical, chronic, rehabilitative, and palliative care needs
Aligns nursing care with the Code of Conduct and Practice Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Established work priorities in patient care management
Maintains a comfortable and therapeutic environment
Participates in program planning and implementation of changes on the nursing unit
Collaborates within an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving the patient and family
Performs a variety of nursing duties in accordance with SHHA Policies and Procedures
Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHHA's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety, infection prevention and control, and participates in regular in-service education in these areas
Experience, Skill and Abilities:
Current CNO Certificate of Registration
RPN diploma from a recognized College
Current CPR/BCLS
Current experience in an acute medicine setting, with the demonstrated ability to practice independently
Completion of a medication administration course and current experiencer with delivery and administration of medications in an acute care setting
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Demonstrated pattern of good attendance
Demonstrated commitment to Service Excellence and Patient and Family Centered Care
Conflict management and conflict resolution skills
Commitment and participation in continuing education and professional development related to active medical, surgical nursing, long term and terminal illness
Shows initiative and self-direction
Current Police Check/Vulnerable Sector Screen and immunization status (including COVID-19 vaccination) required upon hire.
Immunization Records:
Successful candidates must provide evidence of fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your first day of work. Any candidate entering the facility to attend an interview will be required to provide evidence of a fully completed COVID-19 vaccination status. To be considered fully immunized, individuals need to have received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days earlier than the date they arriving to an interview or to begin work at SHHA.
