Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in various settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, and home care. The RPN will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while adhering to established protocols and standards.

Duties

Provide direct patient care in accordance with established nursing practices and protocols. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Monitor and document patient vital signs, medical history, and progress. Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care. Perform phlebotomy and laboratory tests as needed. Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and care plans. Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner. Provide support in specialized areas including dementia care, pediatrics, hospice care, and pain management. Participate in case management activities to coordinate patient services.

Requirements

Valid Registered Practical Nurse license. Nursing home experience preferred; hospital experience is a plus. Familiarity with acute care settings and senior care practices. Experience in home care or assisted living environments is desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols. Proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner) is advantageous. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to provide compassionate care to diverse patient populations including children and seniors. Experience with laboratory procedures is beneficial.
