PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

experienced pharmacy technician
you will be at the heart of our pharmacy, mixing, blending and preparing custom medications that are as unique as our patients! You'll combine technical skill with a personal touch, ensuring every medication is perfect and every patient receives the utmost care.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Check and sign technical aspects of prescriptions as
per the approved guidelines
set forth by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Maintain knowledge of and adhere to
NAPRA's Model Standards
of Practice for Pharmacy Technicians and any provincial regulations for Pharmacy Technician practice.
Adhere to all relevant guidelines including the established
Standard Operating Procedures
and all applicable
regulatory requirements
.
Unpack
shipments and
pack
prescriptions for shipment.
Label
products.
Check and approve
final release of specialty pharmaceutical formulations prepared using appropriate specialized compounding skills, equipment, and pharmaceutical calculations in accordance with worksheets, procedures and instructions approved by a pharmacist.
Release compounding medication
ensuring correct
components, weight, labelling, and refer to a pharmacist if problems arise.
Preparation
of sterile products using appropriate specialized skills, equipment, aseptic technique and pharmaceutical calculations in accordance with worksheets, procedures and instructions approved by a pharmacist.
Other required responsibilities
as needed.
WHO YOU ARE
A
Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists* Have
2+ years of proven experience
in processing scripts in a high-volume environment
Knowledgeable of non-sterile & sterile
compounding and pharmaceutical calculations is an asset
An
excellent
verbal and interpersonal
communicator
An
excellent time manager, organizer and problem-solver
with exceptional attention to detail
Able to demonstrate
initiative
and the ability to
work effectively
with others and within time constraints
Other Assets:
Experience in Sterile Compounding is preferred, on-site training will be provided
