Your Opportunity:

PCU 62 at Rockyview General Hospital is a busy urban hospital located in Calgary Alberta. As a Graduate Nurse, you will provide patient and family centered nursing care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and immediate post partum period. You will work within a multidisciplinary team that will include Physicians, Nurse Clinicians, and Registered Midwives. The Graduate Nurse works as a member of the health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, families and/or communities within level of competency. The Graduate Nurse provides leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. The Graduate Nurse is accountable to the public for his/her own practice, which is monitored and regulated (Province of Alberta Nursing Profession Act, 1995). The Graduate Nurse is responsible for ensuring that practice meets legislative requirements, the practice standards of CRNA and the code of ethics (Canadian Nurses\' Association Code of Ethics, 2002). The Graduate Nurse is guided by their level of education, expertise, experience, demonstrated skill level, Alberta Health Services policies and job description.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour ($35.87/hour - $43.82/hour effective April 1, 2023). Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable. This posting is scheduled to close at 23:59 MT of the posting end date but may be filled earlier if a Regular Employee who holds a position within the unit, program, or office expresses their interest in this vacancy by 23:59 MT on the 5th calendar day following the posting date, under LOU #25. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Enrolled or completed the final focus clinical practicum (within the last 12 months) in an acute care Level 2 or Level 3 Labour and Delivery unit, Critical Care unit or Operating Room. Demonstrated advanced problem-solving skills integrating critical thinking and good judgement. Ability to perform consistently in a highly organized, rapid moving, complex environment. Ability to collaborate within the expectations of a highly complex integrated team. Not currently in a regular full-time or regular part-time position with AHS. Preferred Qualifications:
