Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides a leadership role within the client care team and provides care in situations in which the client's condition is complex and the client care outcomes are not predictable. Within the scope of practice, the Registered Nurse promotes health, assesses and provides care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the client.

Required:

• Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
• Current certification in Neonatal Resuscitation (N.R.P.), Breastfeeding course, Fetal Health Surveillance, OR and Post-partum OBS courses - (Alternatively - included with our education offerings at GBGH)
• Current B.C.L.S Certification essential, on hire
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
• Demonstrated good communication, organizational and time management skills
• Proven ability to adapt readily to change
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
• Must meet expectations for appropriate, respectful and professional conduct, as set out in the GBGH Code of Conduct
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

Preferred:

• Completion of MORE OB
• Paediatric Advanced Life Support (P.A.L.S.)
• Completion of Physical Assessment of Adult and/or Paediatric Patient course
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
• Computerized Documentation (i.e. Meditech)
• 3-5 years' experience working on a OBS environment

• Bilingual - English and French

Hours of Work: Temporary Full Time Maternity Leave. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.

Salary: $34.24 - $48.17 an hour
