The Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Grande Prairie Opioid Dependency Program (ODP), and interdisciplinary health and treatment team. The incumbent will be responsible for practice within the Community Protection and Opioid Stewardship Standards and best practices. The RN is responsible for assessment, supervision, medication preparation, including dispensing oral and injectable opioid agonist medications and medical intervention as required (BLS, overdose response, stimulant intoxication response). The RN will supervise self-administration of prescribed medication including post consumption assessment for individuals accessing the ODP. The RN will provide case management, treatment planning, phlebotomy, vaccinations, ECG\'s, in addition to collaborating with community agencies and external medical and social service providers to coordinate client care and provide informed referrals for recovery-oriented interventions. Duties also include training and dispensing of Naloxone kits as part of the community Naloxone program. The city of Grande Prairie in northwest Alberta has something for everyone! In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.17/hour - $42.96/hour ($35.87/hour - $43.82/hour effective April 1, 2023). Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
