Overview and Purpose of the Role

Reporting directly to the Manager, Clinic, Procedures, and Surgical Day Care his role is responsible for managing patient care for the patients undergoing diagnostic or screening endoscopies, and other procedures.

The successful incumbent will provide clear education and communication, ensuring care meets individual needs while supporting our mission to improve access, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life throughout the community.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Registered Nurse duties in the Procedure/ Endoscopy Department. Skill, knowledge, and competency with assisting physician with endoscopy and other procedures. Proper use, care, and handling of the endoscopic and other procedural equipment. Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records of the patient. Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' condition. Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned.

Corporate Responsibilities:

Participate in all mandatory training and educational requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Schroeder Ambulatory Centre Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines.

Education,

Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. BCLS and ACLS certification (must provide proof of valid certification upon hire).

Skills, & Qualifications:

Minimum two years of recent Endoscopy experience required. Proficiency in Endoscopy video equipment and IV therapy (including IV push medication and venipuncture) required. Strong assessment skills and ability to respond effectively in crisis or emergency situation. Critical Care is an asset. Pre and Post Anesthesia care is an asset. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with shifting priorities. Demonstrated excellence in patient and family centered care health education while meeting our mission. Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills to support effective coordination of patient care and procedural flow within the department.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Satisfactory completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check. Proof of immunization and TB screening required upon hire.

Pay: $92,820.00-$109,200.00 per year
